From Venice to Pompeii; Journey to the Red Room was a solo exhibition based on works that came out of studies, work and travel throughout Europe in the mid to late 1990's to early 2000's. The exhibition at the First Canadian Place Gallery in 2000 included some works from these experiences with a focus on one one particular journey from northern Italy to Pompeii. This journey was especially important to me because I had wanted to get to Pompeii for over a decade to see the ancient Roman painters whose painting skills I have always admired.

Other works shown here were not in this show but from the period of the early 90's through the early 2000's that acted as a form of diary of different places and from experiences of European visual culture and the learning I did from the old masters seen during my time in Europe.
